About us

Childcare Philosophy

Little Stem Child Care provides a high standard of care for toddlers to school aged children in a family style setting. This business name was registered in Ontario in 2019. However, [“This child care program is not licensed by the Government of Ontario.” ]. Unlicensed home daycare providers are allowed to care for a maximum of 5 children at a time in their homes. In this small group setting, children are able to interact with each other and their surroundings with adequate supervision. A school day program is ideal for parents who want to introduce their children to a regular school day schedule.

Curriculum

This program is based on the principles of STEM Learning for Toddlers & Preschoolers.

Science- Can be as basic as a child making observations about their environment, such as noticing different colours.

Technology- Involves the use of technological devices. Example, pressing the button on a toy so it makes sound.

Engineering- The use of fine motor skills by a child to build something. (Which by the way is always spectacular!)

Math- Being able to identify numbers, patterns and shapes.

STEM activities allow children of any age to learn about their natural environment by exploring their curiosity as they play.

I am a mother and an independent home childcare provider that brings affordable and convenient childcare services to families in the Vanier neighbourhood of Oshawa, ON. I am an experienced Early Childcare Assistant and Librarian providing a safe, playful and educational environment for toddlers and preschoolers (18 months - 3.5 yrs old) in my smoke free, pet friendly home.

I provide healthy meals and tax receipts. I have a fully fenced backyard, a food handler’s permit, First Aid and CPR certificate, police records check and references. Please contact me for rates or to book a tour.
